Bottom Line:

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s reformist agenda promises to deliver some needed impulses in the fields of international relations and energy policy. However, a new trajectory for Tehran will also need the cooperation of other players, not just within Iran’s complex power structure but also international players, most importantly the US government. Will Pezeshkian succeed in generating positive momentum similar to that seen with the 2015 nuclear deal?
