Turkish court jails journalist over proverb that 'insulted' Erdogan

ISTANBUL — One of Turkey’s best-known TV journalists was spending a third night behind bars on Monday after being jailed on a charge of insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Media rights groups and opposition figures condemned the Istanbul court’s decision to keep Sedef Kabas in prison ahead of a trial that stems from her reciting a proverb.
