An Iran-linked Bahraini armed group claimed a drone attack on Israel on Thursday, representing a possible widening of the regional conflict amid the Gaza war.

Saraya al-Ashtar said in a statement on Telegram that it “targeted” a site belonging to the Israeli company Trucknet in southern Israel’s Eilat. The group said the attack was launched in support of Palestinians in Gaza.

Trucknet Enterprise Ltd. is an Israeli software startup. The company has been sending goods from Gulf ports to Israel via overland routes since the start of the Gaza war. Some firms are seeking alternative routes to the Suez Canal due to attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen on ships in the Red Sea.

Saraya al-Ashtar did not release any information or evidence regarding damage from the strike. In a propaganda video, the group showed a drone being fired from a remote area.
